Trainer Ismail Mohammed has been fined by stewards in the UAE after his horse, Expert, was found to have raced at Jebel Ali with a banned substance in its system.
The Racing Post reports that on Jan. 8, 2016, a post-race test found that Expert tested positive for minoxidil, a vasodilator that aids blood flow to muscles. It is normally used to treat hair loss in men.
Mohammed pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the equivalent of $10,922 (US). Expert, who had finished sixth in the race, was disqualified.
