‘True Believer’: Soledad O’Brien Rekindles Love of Riding With Off-Track Thoroughbreds

Most know Soledad O'Brien from her work as a journalist/television news anchor on NBC and CNN. She is also a mother of four children, and an avid horse lover.

O'Brien's two daughters share their mother's passion for horses. When searching for horses for herself and her daughters, O'Brien somewhat inadvertently discovered two horses that have fit perfectly into her family. Both were retired Thoroughbreds, and both were adopted through Akindale Thoroughbred Rescue.

“If anybody had said to me a year ago that my 10-year-old daughter, who's 4-foot 10, would be on a Thoroughbred right off the track, and that she'd be training him to jump cross-rails, I wouldn't have believed them,” O'Brien said in an interview with Susan Salk for her website, Off Track Thoroughbreds.com.
