At the conclusion of a record-breaking Thoroughbred meet that ended on Sunday, Remington Park racing secretary Mike Shamburg has stepped down, the Oklahoma City track's president and general manager, Scott Wells, confirmed.
Shamburg had also served as racing secretary at Lone Star Park – a Texas track owned by the same company, Global Gaming LLC, that owns Remington Park. Shamburg has been at Remington Park since 2012.
Wells said Tim Williams, Remington's assistant racing secretary for eight years, would replace Shamburg. Williams also serves as racing secretary during the Remington Park Quarter Horse meet.
Wells would not say why Shamburg was leaving.
