British champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa will ride the next few weeks in Hong Kong, the South China Morning Post reports.
De Sousa is scheduled to ride for three weeks beginning Jan. 9. He will be joined by Ryan Moore, who plans to ride six weeks, starting Jan. 17.
De Sousa competed in the International Jockeys Challenge earlier this month, and piloted a winner for trainer Tony Cruz.
Steve Railton, licensing committee secretary for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, said the club had viewed De Sousa, who had recently been riding in the U.S., as a “jockey of interest for some time”.
