The committee of Jockeys and Jeans are proud to announce the addition of Nancy Lasala, president of the PDJF, as our newest committee member.
“Nancy has been with us from the start and we felt this was the right time to add her to our committee,” said Barry Pearl, President of Jockeys and Jeans.
Nancy LaSala has served as Board President of Permanently Disabled Jockeys' Fund (PDJF) since its inception in the spring of 2006. In January of 2009, she additionally accepted the role as Executive Director. Among her duties in that capacity is the administration of the fund in accordance with the by-laws set by its board of trustees. LaSala's business background is highlighted by her 30-year employment with a global leader in power generation. Currently, she is responsible for contract administration and commercial activities. Nancy is a native of Chicago and resides in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with her husband Jerry, retired jockey and their daughter Dina.
“Nancy will make a great addition to our committee and help us lead Jockeys and Jeans to be the number one charity event in racing,” Pearl said. “Jockeys and Jeans raises money for the PDJF and so far in only 4 short years we have raised over $750,000 for that great organization.”
