Trainer Ken McPeek has booked jockey Olivier Peslier to ride G1 Kentucky Oaks runner-up Daddys Lil Darling in the G1 Investec Oaks June 2.

The Racing Post reports that McPeek announced the news Thursday, where he was speaking at the Pan American Conference in Washington, D.C.

“Julien Leparoux rode her when she was second in the Kentucky Oaks, but he's not familiar with Epsom, so Olivier Peslier is going to ride, and he'll go from France to Epsom about a week out to get to know her,” McPeek said.

McPeek then went on to say, “The course is extremely tricky, uphill and downhill, and to bring a U.S. jockey who's not been there before wouldn't have been right. It was a no-brainer to bring in Olivier. I don't want a jockey who's never been there.”

What an interesting novelty. Will I be betting on her? No. But rooting for her? Absolutely.

Makes sense to use a jockey that’s familiar with the track. Hope she takes to the turf. I’ll be rooting for her!

Good luck & safe trips to all!!

Really? Did anybody see who rode Tepin? Over there

Epsom is not the same as a straight mile at Royal Ascot. It’s a very difficult course to ride, as the article states.
