BetAmerica announced today that the online gaming website has reached an agreement with Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith to be the star of their new TV campaign in a deal brokered by Meticulous Talent Management.
The 12-month agreement is a major coup for the fast-growing account deposit wagering (“ADW”) brand following a year of significant growth in 2014. Smith's TV commercials will air on major television networks alongside the existing BetAmerica library which features Chantal Sutherland and Kayla Stra.
“I love what BetAmerica does for racing and jockeys and it made me agree to be featured in the 2015 commercials,” said Mike Smith. “Their desire to show the commercials outside of racing-only TV was another reason. Racing needs publicity and seeing BetAmerica commercials airing on non-horse racing programs is a big plus for our sport.”
“Last year's successful TV campaign focused on being a challenger in the ADW market. For 2015 we wanted to add a Hall of Famer to our campaigns to reflect our ambitions. Mike's an elite rider, he's won almost every major race, achieved every honor, and is the most successful jockey in Breeders' Cup history. We believe he is the perfect fit for our brand as we continue our growth. We are delighted we could reach agreement with Mike and the aim now is to create iconic TV commercials that people will be talking about for years to come” said Pete Laverick, BetAmerica's Director of Marketing.
The new TV commercials will be filmed in January 2015 and released to air the following month.
