Jockey Garrett Gomez has taken off his mounts this weekend to “deal with personal problems,” according to stewards. Gomez and agent Tony Matos declined comment to the Daily Racing Form on Thursday and Friday.
Gomez is expected to resume riding next week.
He was scheduled to ride top contender More Chocolate in Saturday's Grade 1 Vanity Handicap at Betfair Hollywood Park. Edwin Maldonado will be aboard instead.
