Four Winners Icing On Birthday Cake For Eclipse-Winning Apprentice Roman

With five winning tickets on Sunday, there is a Santa Anita Single Ticket Pick 6 Jackpot carryover of $119,746 into Thursday.  Today's five winning tickets were each worth $23,986.20.

Reigning Eclipse Award winning Apprentice Jockey Evin Roman was the star of the day, as he celebrated his 20th birthday by booting home four winners on the nine-race program, including trainer Eric Kruljac's Causeforcommotion ($9.40 to win) in the ninth and final race.  Santa Anita's leading rider through 40 racing days, the Puerto Rican native is now four wins up on Flavien Prat, 38-34.

With an eight-race card in the offing Thursday, the Pick 6 will be comprised of races three through eight.  Approximate post time for Thursday's third is at 2 p.m. PT.

There are 50 horses entered and eligible to run in Thursday's Pick 6 sequence, making for average field size of 8.3 runners per race.
