Bruce Quade has been named the new chairman of the Maryland Racing Commission, it was reported on the That's Amore Stable website.
Quade, a retired federal employee, had served on the Commission for just over a year and had earned a reputation as a committed and energetic commissioner.
One of the main goals Quade has set is to finally broker a long-term agreement between the state's Thoroughbred interests and the Maryland Racing Commission, which operates Pimlico and Laurel Park.
