A herd of 20 to 30 horses is allegedly starving to death in a snow-covered pasture east of Glacier Park in Montana, where they have remained unfed since November, according to a story by David Murray in Greatfallstribune.com.
Pat Schildt, a member of the Blackfeet Tribal Business Council who drives by the pasture every day, said the condition of the horses is common knowledge among people living in the area and repeated complaints had been ignored by both Blackfeet Tribal Law Enforcement and the Glacier County Sheriff's Office.
Jerry and Karlyn Zimbelman of Conrad, the owners of the property, said they do not own the horses and do not have an agreement with anyone to have horses in the pasture.
