Millionaire Bravazo posted a bullet workout in company Wednesday morning at Oaklawn in preparation for his 4-year-old debut in the $9 million Pegasus World Cup (G1) on Jan. 26 at Gulfstream Park.
Breezing with stablemate Royal Edition, a 4-year-old maiden, Bravazo covered five furlongs over a muddy track in 1:00.60. Royal Edition went in 1:01.60.
It was the second consecutive bullet work for Bravazo, who won an allowance race last January at Oaklawn before capturing the $400,000 Risen Star Stakes (G2) at Fair Grounds and finishing second in the Preakness (G1) at Pimlico and the $500,000 Clark Handicap (G1) Nov. 23 at Churchill Downs in his last start.
Bravazo has breezed four times at Oaklawn since the Clark.
“We're right on target,” said Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas. “I haven't had to make any adjustment.”
Lukas said Luis Saez will ride Bravazo in the 1 1/8-mile Pegasus.
