A grade 1 winner on turf and dirt, Catholic Boy has been supplemented to Monday's G2 Knickerbocker Stakes at Belmont Park in preparation for a start in the Breeders' Cup, reports drf.com. The 1 1/8-mile turf race could lead to the 4-year-old son of More Than Ready pointing to the Breeders' Cup Classic, or possibly the Mile or Dirt Mile.

“He has a history of bouncing out of his turf races really well,” said trainer Jonathan Thomas. “We'll learn a lot by running. It'll answer some questions for us.”

Unraced since finishing second in the G2 Suburban on July 6, Catholic Boy has had his two most recent workouts on the Belmont turf. They include a half-mile move in 49.87 seconds on Oct. 6, and a half in 47.66 on Sept. 29.
