Trainer Larry Jones said on Saturday that Havre de Grace will enter the Breeders' Cup Classic and will not be entered in the Ladies' Classic, according to Jay Privman in Daily Racing Form. Havre de Grace had been pre-entered in both races, but Jones said that he and owner Rick Porter decided to only enter the Classic against males.
“Mr. Porter was worried about drawing the one hole in the Classic, but I told him that with no more than 14 horses, it's not like the Derby where they need room for an auxiliary gate. The one hole won't be right up against the rail,” Jones said.
