Klaravich Stable and William Lawrence's Paid Up Subscriber has been removed from consideration for next week's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint, according to a report from the Daily Racing Form.
Trainer Al Stall indicated that he hadn't been pleased with the way the 4-year-old filly had been training.
“When you're shipping across country for a huge race like this, you'd better be training totally through the bridle,” Stall told the Form's Marty McGee. “We gave ourselves time to consider all that was involved, and the bottom line is we didn't feel like shipping to California was the right thing to do.”
Paid Up Subscriber had earned a “Win and You're In” berth to the Breeders' Cup by winning the G2 Fleur de Lis at Churchill Downs in June. The chestnut filly most recently finished second to I'm a Chatterbox in the G1 Juddmonte Spinster at Keeneland.
Paid Up Subscriber joins Living The Life as the second filly forced to miss the race. Seventeen fillies and mares were pre-entered for the Filly & Mare Sprint. With the two defections, both Gomo and Enchanting Lady now gain spots in the field. Wonder Gal remains the final alternate.
