The two main contenders likely to take on Arrogate in the Aug. 19 Pacific Classic both turned in workouts over the Del Mar oval Monday morning, according to drf.com. Arrogate's Bob Baffert-trained stablemate Collected continued to impress bystanders with a one-mile tune-up in 1:37.40, and Accelerate, who recently defeated an inexplicably dull Arrogate in the San Diego Handicap, turned in a workmanlike five furlongs in 1:01.20.
“He's been working like that since he got down here,” Baffert said of Collected. “He likes this track. Some horses take to it. He's got the right style. He's got good speed. He can lay up close.”
Trainer John Sadler relayed that jockey Victor Espinoza was pleased with Accelerate's breeze, adding that he “just wanted him to check his energy level.”

Both horses are expected to breeze once more before the Pacific Classic, a “Win and You're In” for the Breeders' Cup Classic. Arrogate, meanwhile, has been scheduled to work on Tuesday.
Check out the following video of Collected's July 26 work at Del Mar, in which he covered six furlongs in 1:12.20:
