Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner Mongolian Saturday has officially been retired, according to drf.com. The 8-year-old gelding was diagnosed with a suspensory injury, and will spend his retirement at trainer Enebish Ganbat's farm in Kentucky.
“He showed me many countries,” Ganbat said. “We met so many racing people.”
Besides the 2015 Breeders' Cup, Mongolian Saturday boasts a win in the 2016 Woodford; both triumphs came over the Keeneland turf. The gelding retires with a record of eight wins from 48 starts and earnings over $1.2 million.
