Fox Hill Farm's Rick Porter announced on Saturday that 6-year-old Winslow Homer has been retired following another suspensory injury.
“He was one of my favorites but the time had come to retire him,” said Porter via the farm's Facebook page. “We have several people that are interested in him as a stallion.”
A $310,000 yearling purchase, Winslow Homer is the son of Unbridled's Song and Summer Squall mare Summer Raven. He won both the Grade 3 Holy Bull and the Curlin Stakes in 2010, but his career was plagued with several injuries.
Upon his retirement, he had amassed $273,365 from four wins in 11 starts.
