Arqana offered two one-fiftieth shares for sale online in young stallion Siyouni in 2015: both sold for €355,000 (approximately $385,000 US). The sale of a third share was completed on Thursday, with the final bid at €360,000 (approximately $390,500 US). The winning bidder was Mick Flanagan, acting as agent for the China Horse Club.
The odd share means that the buyer gets a nomination to Siyouni in 2016, along with an extra one in 2017 and every second year after that. Siyouni, by Pivotal, is the sire of three-time Group I-winning Ervedya, and France's leading 2-year-old sire in 2014. The young standout from Aga Khan Stud already has 7 stakes winners, and his oldest runners are just-turned 4-year-olds.
Of the first two shares, the first was sold to England-based Hesmonds Stud of Nurlan Bizakov of Kazakhstan. The second went to the Irish branch of Merriebelle Stable, based in the United States.
