Brookdale Farm, founded by Fred Seitz in 1983, has long enjoyed an excellent reputation in racing circles for raising and selling good horses. The farm was also the home of the premier sire Deputy Minister until his death.
Now the commerical farm is getting attention as the place where breeder Harvey Clarke boards Arch's Gal Edith, the dam of 2012 Kentucky Derby winner, I'll Have Another.
“A lot of people work hard every day in all kinds of weather to produce horses,” said Seitz recently. “If you can raise a Derby winner, you must be OK. It's the ultimate validation.”
