Tattersalls releases July catalog

The catalogue for the 2011 Tattersalls July Sale is out now and can also be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com. Numbering 753 lots primarily comprising fillies/horses in training and broodmares, the three day sale takes place Wednesday 6th – Friday 8th July and features consignments from the world's leading owner/breeders including Cheveley Park Stud, Darley, Juddmonte Farms, and Shadwell Estates.

Having produced the dams of Group 1 winners ST NICHOLAS ABBEY and WOOTTON BASSETT in recent years, the Tattersalls July Sale has forged a global reputation as a consistent source of quality breeding stock and horses in training and the largest consignment, numbering 84 lots, comes from Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum's Shadwell Stud. Amongst the Shadwell three year old fillies are daughters of top sires BERNARDINI, CAPE CROSS, DALAKHANI, DANSILI, ELUSIVE QUALITY, GREEN DESERT, KINGMAMBO, PIVOTAL, RAHY and REDOUTE'S CHOICE. The Shadwell consignment also features a number of high class Group and Listed performers including the Listed winning, Group 2 placed ALWAARY, Group 2 Gimcrack runner up TAAJUB and the three year old French Group 3 performer KHAWATIM.

The second largest consignment comes from Prince Khaled Abdulla's Juddmonte Farms which has a team of 50 comprising broodmares and fillies and horses in training. Fillies from the direct families of Juddmonte superstars APTITUDE, COMMANDER IN CHIEF, DANEHILL, DISTANT VIEW, OASIS DREAM, WARNING, WINCE and ZAFONIC all look set to attract plenty of interest as do the 18 Juddmonte colts and geldings also catalogued.

Amongst more than 100 broodmares, which all sell on the first day of the July Sale, are mares in foal to proven Group 1 sires CAPE CROSS, DANEHILL DANCER, EXCEED AND EXCEL, HALLING, IFFRAAJ, KYLLACHY, MEDICEAN, PEINTRE CELEBRE, PIVOTAL, ROYAL APPLAUSE and ZAMINDAR. In addition the catalogue also features mares in foal to exciting young sires ALFRED NOBEL, ARCHIPENKO, COCKNEY REBEL, DARK ANGEL, DUTCH ART, EQUIANO, GLORIA DE CAMPEAO, LE HAVRE, MAKFI, MANDURO, MASTERCRAFTSMAN, MOUNT NELSON, MYBOYCHARLIE, NOTNOWCATO, PACO BOY, SAKHEE'S SECRET, SHOWCASING, SIR PERCY, STARSPANGLEDBANNER, TAMAYUZ, THREE VALLEYS, VALE OF YORK and ZEBEDEE. In addition, there are 21 mares with foals at foot by top sires including DUBAWI and Australian sensation FASTNET ROCK.

International and domestic buyers will also have no shortage of choice amongst the horses in training. The John Gosden trained NATIONALISM, a head behind multiple Group 1 winner RIO DE LA PLATA when fourth in the Group 3 Diomed Stakes on Derby Day, will attract plenty of attention. Smart Listed placed two year old SNOWFLAKE DANCER, trained by Jim Bolger, looks to be amongst the possible stars, as do the Group placed three year olds CASUAL GLIMPSE and THE PADDYMAN and the progressive Mark Johnston trained MALTHOUSE. Dr Marwan Koukash also has 16 of his high class string catalogued including the 96 rated sprinter FALASTEEN and the 97 rated Ascot Stakes and Northumberland Plate entry BLIZZARD BLUES.
