Classic-placed Tale of Verve has been retired, and will enter stud at Charles Fipke's C.F. Farms in Paris, Ky., for the 2019 breeding season, BloodHorse reports.

The 6-year-old Tale of Ekati horse will stand for an advertised fee of $2,000.

Tale of Verve parlayed a maiden win at Keeneland in the spring of his 3-year-old year into a runner-up effort behind eventual Triple Crown winner American Pharoah in the 2015 Preakness Stakes. He won two of 20 starts for earnings of $500,245.

Dallas Stewart trained the horse, who raced as a homebred for Fipke.
