Qatar's Sheikh Fahad al Thani has acquired Longholes Stud near Newmarket, it was reported in the Racing Post. Sheikh Fahad plans on using the farm as a base for expanding his Thoroughbred operations.

Sheikh Fahad also owns the stallions Makfi and Harbour Watch, but has no plans on standing them at Longholes. Both stallions currently stand at Tweenhills Stud in Gloucestershire, which is owned by his bloodstock adviser David Redvers.

“It has been bought primarily for Sheikh Fahad's own horses – a stud where mares can walk to surrounding farms – but also as a base for him in Newmarket,” Redvers said.
