During his racing career, Steppenwolfer was a very talented and competitive Thoroughbred, earning over $650,000 during a career that spanned six seasons. The grey gelding was second in both the G2 Arkansas Derby and Southwest Stakes before finishing third to Barbaro in the 2006 G1 Kentucky Derby.
Since he's been retired, Steppenwolfer continues to find success, this time as a foxhunter for Pennsylvania horsewoman, Gail Thayer.
