Rockridge Stud in Hudson, NY will have its annual stallion show and open house on Saturday, Jan. 30 from 11 am – 2 pm. Buffet lunch will be served and drawings for free seasons to each of the farm's eight stallions will be made at the show.
Stallions at the farm include D'Funnybone, a son of D'Wildcat whose first weanlings averaged nearly five times his stud fee. Giant Surprise is a son of Giant's Causeway, the leading sire of 2-year-olds in the Northeast, whose progeny includes recent New York Stallion Series winner Sudden Surprise. Veteran stallion Posse (Silver Deputy) also resides at Rockridge, whose leading sons include Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile winner Caleb's Posse and Eclipse Champion Kodiak Kowboy.
In 2016, look for the first weanlings of Rockridge sire Honorable Dillon (Tapit). This year also introduces the first yearlings of Breeders' Cup Sprint Champion Trinniberg (Teuflesberg). Look for 2-year-olds from Midas Touch (Galileo) and Soaring Empire (Empire Maker). New for 2016 is graded stakes winner Micromanage (Medaglia D'Oro), earner of nearly $800,000.
