Champion Sire Kitten's Joy will stand the 2015 breeding season for a fee of $100,000 stands and nurses independent of the outcome of his runners in the Breeders' Cup.
The #1 Sire of Stakes Winners in 2013 with 24, Kitten's Joy is once again the Leading Sire of Stakes Winners in 2014, already with 23. He is the Leading Turf Sire for the second year in a row as well, and ranks #2 on the General Sire List behind only Tapit with nearly $10,000,000 in progeny earnings. Leading progeny in 2014 include Multiple Grade 1-winning Millionaires Real Solution, Big Blue Kitten, and Stephanie's Kitten. Stephanie's Kitten, a Grade 1 winner at 2, 4, and 5, will sell as Hip #141 at Fasig-Tipton after the Breeders' Cup.
In addition, Ramsey Farm announced that Multiple Grade 1-winning Millionaire Real Solution, by Champion Sire Kitten's Joy, has been retired from racing and will stand the 2015 breeding season alongside his sire at Ramsey Farm for a fee of $12,500 stands and nurses.
Bred and raised at Ramsey Farm in Nicholasville, KY, Real Solution started his career out in Italy where he rattled off three consecutive wins including a victory in the Premio Botticelli. Returning to the US, Real Solution won the $1,000,000 Grade 1 Arlington Million at four and won the $1,000,000 Grade 1 Knob Creek Manhattan Stakes at five. In addition, he placed in the Grade 1 Woodford Reserve Manhattan Handicap, the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational Stakes, and the Grade 1 Man o' War Stakes. Real Solution retires with a record of five wins, two seconds and two thirds from 15 career starts amassing earnings of $1,374,175.
