Firenze Fire (Poseidon's Warrior) and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. win the G3 Dwyer at Belmont Park 7/7/18.

Poseidon's Warrior, the sire of Grade 1 winner Firenze Fire, will relocate to Equistar Training and Breeding in Annville, Penn., for the 2020 breeding season at an advertised stud fee of $5,000, Thoroughbred Daily News reports.

The 11-year-old son of Speightstown previously resided at Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky after beginning his stallion career in Florida.

Poseidon's Warrior was Florida's leading freshman sire of 2017, helped along by the start of Firenze Fire's seven-figure-earning career, where he won the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes and G3 Sanford Stakes. Firenze Fire has continued to carry the banner for his sire in the years that followed, running in the 2018 Kentucky Derby and winning stakes races including the G3 Dwyer Stakes and Gallant Bob Stakes, as well as the listed Jerome Stakes, Runhappy Stakes, Fabulous Strike Stakes, and most recently the Gravesend Stakes.

Other runners of note by Poseidon's Warrior include stakes winner Navy Commander and stakes-placed Splicethemainbrace.

During his own on-track career, Poseidon's Warrior won seven of 21 starts for earnings of $701,147, highlighted by a victory in the G1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap. He also won a trio of non-graded stakes races in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Bred in Maryland by Dark Hollow Farm and William P. Beatson, Poseidon's Warrior is out of the winning Smarten mare Poised to Pounce.
