Multiple graded stakes winner Aikenite returns to the racing scene on Friday when he lines up in the $175,000 Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes (gr. III) at Keeneland.

The 5-year-old horse by Yes It's True was retired by Dogwood Stable in March with the idea of standing him at stud. With no immediate interest among stud farms for the 2012 season, Aikenite returned to Todd Pletcher's barn. After having time off to deal with a bothersome ankle, Aikenite has rounded back into form and is the co-second choice on the morning line for the Phoenix.

Dogwood president Cot Campbell told the Daily Racing Form “We always said, if he tells us to stop, we'll stop,” Campbell said of the Aikenite's comeback. “And he didn't.”
