The 45-year-old man who made headlines for an incident with police at the start of a 600-mile horseback ride to his brother's wedding told reporters he made it to his destination on time on Saturday.
Patrick Schumacher of Colorado Springs was stopped by police near the University of Colorado and accused of riding under the influence on Sept 9. Schumacher, his horse Dillon and pug Bufford were detained overnight after his arrest, which included charges for animal cruelty.

Schumacher said he made it to Grand Junction, Colo. (about 300 miles into his journey) before a passerby gave the trio a ride for the rest of the way.
