The 11-year-old son of First Samurai previously stood at Castleton Lyons in Lexington, Ky., where he entered stud in 2014. He'll stand in New Mexico for an advertised fee of $3,000.
From three crops of racing age, Justin Phillip has sired 69 winners, led by Grade 3 winner Lady T N T, Grade 3-placed Upset Brewing, and multiple stakes winner Justaholic.
Justin Phillip won seven of 32 starts during his own racing career for earnings of $1,293,437. A standout sprinter, Justin Phillip's most notable victories include the Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap, the G2 Woody Stephens Stakes, and the G3 Count Fleet Sprint Handicap.
Bred in Kentucky by Oakbrook Farm, Justin Phillip is out of the the Grade 3-placed Cryptoclearance mare Ava Knowsthecode, whose runners also include Grade 1 winner Greenpointcrusader, Grade 2 winner Keyed Entry, Grade 3 winners Algorithms and Successful Mission, and stakes winner Alex's Allure.
