An Invincible Spirit half brother to 2013 Darley Irish Oaks (Ire-I) winner Chicquita sold for €1.1 million ($1,473,803 U.S.), to mark the highest price at the second session of the Arqana Deauville yearling sale Aug. 17.
The Blood-Horse reports that the colt was purchased by agents Ross and Peter Doyle on behalf of South African Markus Jooste's Mayfair Speculators.
The sale company reported that 63 of 75 horses offered sold on the sale's second evening, for total receipts of €12,899,500 ($17,282,105), an increase of 6.5% from the same day in 2013. Median price was €160,000 ($214,359), a rise of 16.4%, and average price was €204,754 ($274,307).
