Fescue, a hardy grass that thrives in horse pastures despite heavy hoof traffic, grazing and adverse growing conditions, is oftentimes infected with Acremonium coenophialum. This endophyte can cause a legion of problems in broodmares and has become a danger to pregnant mares.
