John and Tanya Gunther, breeders of the Triple Crown winner Justify, have been hard at work planning the matings for their 30-strong broodmare band in the U.S, as well as their 12 mares based on Europe. The father-daughter team will send three mares to Ashford to support Justify in his first season, reports racingpost.com.

“With Justify, the physical package is pretty awesome,” said Tanya Gunther. “And the other thing I love to see in a stallion prospect is the will to win. If you can get that grit into your horse as well, I just think it's one of the most essential things. It's exciting to breed to Justify with those factors in mind.”

The three mares planned for Justify are: Grazie Mille, a 10-year-old Bernardini daughter (dam of G1 winner Mo Town); Fact File, an 8-year-old Dixie Union mare whose second dam is Broodmare of the Year Toussaud; and Tiger Moth, the 7-year-old homebred daughter of Street Sense who was recently retired with earnings over $700,000.

Meanwhile, Justify's dam Stage Magic (Ghostzapper) is currently in foal to Quality Road and will be sent back to Curlin for 2019. Other 2018 star broodmares Without You Babe (dam of Group 1 winner Without Parole) and Devil by Design (dam of Grade 1 winner Competitionofideas), will visit Frankel and Curlin, respectively.
