City of Light's first foal is a filly born at Machmer Hall

The first foal by Quality Road's four-time Grade I winner City of Light has arrived. The filly was born on Friday, January 17th at Machmer Hall in Paris, Ky.

This is the first foal out of the unraced Union Rags mare Redbud, who is a half-sister to graded winner Wishful Tomcat and stakes winners Uncle T Seven, Lucky Lewis, and Zetterholm.

“We are thrilled to bits over our City of Light filly!” said Machmer Hall's Carrie Brogden. “She has a beautiful feminine head and great balance and frame.”

City of Light, who bred a full book of 146 mares in 2019, stands for $40,000 this year.
