Grade 1 winner Got Stormy's impressive runner-up performance in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Mile inspired owner Gary Barber to scratch the filly from the Fasig-Tipton November sale, reports bloodhorse.com. The 4-year-old daughter of Get Stormy could also race again in 2019.
“She's flying to Ocala Tuesday and possibly could come back in the Matriarch,” said trainer Mark Casse, referring to the Grade 1 race on Dec. 1 at Del Mar. “With some luck, next year she'll prove she's one of the best turf horses in the world. We're looking at campaigning her in other countries. We'll see.”
Got Stormy won the G1 Fourstardave at Saratoga in course-record time this year, and ran second to El Tormenta in the Woodbine Mile. She finished 1 1/2 lengths behind Uni in the Breeders' Cup Mile.
Victorious mare Uni is also intended to campaign in 2020, as is Mile third-place finisher Without Parole, each trained by Chad Brown.
