Ocala Stud has set its 2019 stallion roster and fees, led by Girvin who will stand his first season at stud for $7,500 S&N. Uncaptured, Florida's leading first-crop sire and a leader nationally, and The Big Beast who has first yearlings of 2018, will both stand for $6,000 S&N.
Girvin, a leading 3-year-old of his crop, captured the 2017 Grade 1 Haskell Invitational Stakes and scored back-to-back stakes victories in the G2 Risen Star Stakes and the G2 Louisiana Derby, prior to starting in the Kentucky Derby as the top point earner on the Kentucky Derby leaderboard. A 4-year-old son of Tale of Ekati, Girvin is produced from the Malibu Moon mare Catch the Moon and is a half-brother to G3 Iroquois Stakes winner Cocked and Loaded. He retires with a record of 10-4-3-0, having bankrolled $1,624,392.
Uncaptured, a six-time stakes-winning millionaire and Canadian champion 2-year-old, is represented in his first crop by Catherinethegreat, a 4 ¼-length winner of the Schuylerville Stakes (G3) at Saratoga and Capture Your Dream, decisive winner of the FTBOA Florida Sire Desert Vixen Stakes. King's Bishop Stakes (G1) winner The Big Beast, a son of Yes It's True, has first yearlings this year and his first 2-year-olds hit the track in 2019.
Joining Girvin as a new addition to the 13-stallion roster for the upcoming breeding season is Ami's Flatter who will stand for $3,500 S&N. The son of Flatter won the 2016 G2 Commonwealth Stakes at Keeneland and is out of the Victory Gallop mare Galloping Ami, Broodmare of the Year in Canada in 2016.
