Giant’s Causeway Gelding Tops Barretts Mixed Sale

Cautious Giant, a 6-year-old stakes-placed gelding by Giant's Causeway, brought $57,000 to top the one day Barretts January mixed sale.

According to figures provided by Barretts, 125 horses were reported sold with gross receipts totaling $995,800. Average price was $7,966. Figures were down compared to 2016, when 143 head were sold for a total of $1,188,000. The average for 2016 was $8,308.

The BloodHorse reported that Kristin Mulhull, the trainer of Cautious Giant, signed the ticket on the gelding. Mulhull said that she was buying him back for the partnership of Tachycardia Stables and Twilight Racing.
