Don Hargroder's Circle H Farm in Abbeville, La., has acquired Grade 2 winner, Lewis Michael.
Lewis Michael previously stood at Three Chimneys Farm in Midway, Ky. He is by Rahy and is out of the Broad Brush mare, Justenuffheart.
Lewis Michael compiled a record of 7-6-2 in 23 starts and earned $811,714 for owner/breeder Frank Carl Calabrese. During his career he recorded seven triple digit Beyer Speed Figures and won on dirt, turf and all-weather tracks, including a 2 3/4-length victory in the G2 Pat O'Brien Handicap at Del Mar, in which he set a seven-furlong track record of 1:21.17 that still stands.
He also scored a 4 3/4-length victory in the G2 Washington Park Handicap at Arlington Park, setting a record of 1:55.17 for 1 3/16 miles, which also still stands. In addition, Lewis Michael placed in five G2 or G3 stakes, won an allowance race on the dirt track at Arlington by 8 1/4 lengths and an allowance race by 7 lengths posting a 106 Beyer after the Arlington surface was converted to Polytrack.
Lewis Michael comes from a powerful female family. His full sister, Dreaming of Anna, was named Champion 2-year-old filly after her victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, and a half-brother, Justenuffhumor, was a multiple graded stakes-winner with earnings of $533,900. His dam, Justenuffheart, is a half-sister to Kitten's Joy, the leading sire in North America in 2013 with progeny earnings of more than $11.3 million and 24 stakes-winners, and to multiple G1 winner and $1.9 million earner Precious Kitten.
Lewis Michael will be a “private” stallion for the Circle H broodmare band when we're not sending mares to Kentucky.
