The nomination list is out for the 21st Cartier Racing Awards – European horse racing's equivalent of the Oscars, reports Brisnet. One of the most coveted awards is the Cartier Horse of the Year, and this year's nominations include Frankel, Goldikova and So You Think.

The eight equine awards for the year's top horses are determined by points earned by horses in Pattern races throughout the year, combined with the opinions of a panel of racing journalists and votes from readers of the Racing Post and The Daily Telegraph.

The 2011 Cartier Awards will be presented on Nov. 15 at London's Dorchester Hotel.
