Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile winner Liam's Map sired his first winner on July 21, when Basin won a six-furlong maiden special weight at Saratoga Race Course by 1 1/4 lengths.
Jockey Ricardo Santana Jr., guided the bay colt to the wire in 1:09.77 for owner Jackpot Ranch and trainer Steve Asmussen. Basin was bred in Kentucky by Cottonwood Stables, out of the winning Johannesburg mare Appenzell. He is a half-brother to Grade 3 winner Rise Up.
Liam's Map stands at Lane's End in Versailles, Ky., for an advertised fee of $20,000.
The 8-year-old son of Unbridled's Song won six of eight starts during his on-track career for earnings of $1,358,940.
In addition to taking the 2015 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile at Keeneland, Liam's Map notched victories in the Grade 1 Woodward Stakes and non-graded Harlan's Holiday Stakes. He also finished second in the G1 Whitney Stakes.
