Mr Speaker wins the G3 Dania Beach

Lane's End resident Mr Speaker notched his first winner at stud on May 12 when the filly Elegancia won a maiden special weight by five lengths at Hipodromo Camarero in Puerto Rico, BloodHorse reports.

The bay filly broke in the air, but quickly made up ground in the five-furlong race, taking command after three furlongs and extending her lead under jockey Benjamin Lopez. Elegancia stopped the clock in 1:00.66 over a fast track for owner C.A. Cuprill Stable and trainer Carlos Navarro.

Bred in Kentucky by St. Elias Stable, Elegancia is out of the stakes-winning Pivotal mare Jazz Jam.

Mr Speaker, an 8-year-old son of Pulpit, stands at Lane's End in Versailles, Ky., for an advertised fee of $10,000.

His on-track achievements includes victories in the Grade 1 Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes, the G2 Commonwealth Cup Stakes, and the G3 Lexington Stakes and Dania Beach Stakes.
