The first foal by Canadian champion Shaman Ghost was born on Jan. 19 when the Scat Daddy mare Daddy's Duo had a colt at Tommy Town Thoroughbreds in Santa Ynez, Calif.

Owned by the Batchelor Family Trust, Daddy's Duo is a two-time winner in California, out of the Sir Cat mare Marque Gal.

Shaman Ghost will stand the 2019 breeding season at Adena Springs in Paris, Ky., for an advertised fee of $7,500. He began his stallion career at Lovacres Ranch in Warner Springs, Calif.

Shaman Ghost, a 7-year-old Ghostzapper horse, was named Canada's champion 3-year-old colt of 2015 after winning the Queen's Plate and the Grade 3 Marine Stakes. Other campaigns saw him win the G1 Woodward Stakes and Santa Anita Handicap, the G2 Brooklyn Invitational Stakes, and the G3 Pimlico Special Handicap. He also finished second in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes and the Prince of Wales Stakes.
