Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 255 selected yearlings for the 98th Saratoga Sale, to be held on Monday and Tuesday, August 6 and 7, in Saratoga Springs, New York. Sessions will begin each evening at 6:30 pm in the Humphrey S. Finney Sales Pavilion.
“Sire power, outstanding conformation, and depth of pedigree – it's all at Saratoga this year,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “Every current leading North American sire is represented in this year's catalogue. Thirty-eight yearlings catalogued are siblings to graded or group stakes winners, 16 of which are Grade 1 winners.”
In data recently released by The BloodHorse MarketWatch, Saratoga is once again the top ranked North American yearling sale by percentage of Grade 1 winners and graded stakes winners produced from horses sold.
This year's catalogue cover features six Grade 1 winners – AVENGE, BATTLE OF MIDWAY, BOLT D'ORO, MOONSHINE MEMORIES, RUSHING FALL, and STORMY LIBERAL – all of which have captured Grade 1 victories since last year's sale.
“Three of our cover horses – Battle of Midway, Rushing Fall, and Stormy Liberal – all won Breeders' Cup races last year at Del Mar,” continued Browning. “The amount of top level success that comes from this sale, which averages 200 to 250 yearlings catalogued each year, is not only remarkable but demonstrates the high concentration of quality offered annually at Saratoga.”
Buyers will also find a new sales barn when they arrive on the grounds this year. This spring, Fasig-Tipton broke ground on a new barn, numbered Barn 10, which will be utilized for the first time at this sale. Barn 10 is located on the south side of George Street, across from the sales pavilion.
The catalogue may now be viewed online, and will also be available via the equineline sales catalogue app. Print catalogues will be available beginning July 5.
