Evangeline Downs Racetrack Casino & Hotel has announced that they are offering a $10,000 bonus to consignors of horses sold at the Stars of Tomorrow 2-year-olds in Training Sale that will take place on Sunday, March 9, 2014. The sale is in conjunction with the Breeders' Sale Company of Louisiana and will be administered by Stemmans, Inc.
The $10,000 bonus money will be divided equally between two races to be held in August at Evangeline Downs. Any consignor whose sale horse goes on to win either the $100,000 Star Stakes for 2-year-old colts & geldings or the $100,000 Starlet Stakes for 2-year-old fillies will be awarded $5,000 in bonus money.
In order to accommodate consignors who wish to take a shot at the bonus money, the entry deadline for the sale has been extended one week and will now take place on Monday, January 20. The entry fee is $350 with a 5% commission ($300 minimum). Late entries will require a fee of $500 with the same commission fee structure.
The sale will begin at 10 a.m. CST with the Gallop Preview Show scheduled for Saturday, March 8 starting at 12 noon. The sale and the Gallop Preview Show are free to attend and both are open to the public.
