Owner/trainer Mick Ruis' Bolt d'Oro, winner of the G1 Del Mar Futurity, will stand at B. Wayne Hughes' Spendthrift Farm after his racing career, according to drf.com. The unbeaten 2-year-old by Medaglia d'Oro is out of the A.P. Indy mare Globetrot, making him a half-brother to stakes winner Sonic Mule.

“We have an arrangement,” Hughes said. “He's a beautiful horse with Grade 1 speed as a 2-year-old. We're delighted to be entrusted with the responsibility of his second career.”

Ruis will retain ownership through the remainder of the colt's racing career, which will continue in Saturday's G1 Frontrunner Stakes at Santa Anita. That race is a key prep for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
