Haskell and Santa Anita Sprint Championship (both Gr. 1) winner Coil sired his first winner Sunday at Golden Gate Fields. The freshman stallion accomplished the feat with his very first starter, according to bloodhorse.com.
The 2-year-old filly Recoiling led the 4 1/2-furlong sprint nearly gate-to-wire, winning by 1 3/4 lengths in a final time of :52.29. She was trained by William Morey and ridden by Juan Hernandez.
Coil stands for $5,000 at Magali Farms in California. By Pleasantly Perfect, he is out of a half-sister to champion turf female Possibly Perfect.
