The first winner for Airdrie Stud resident Summer Front came on May 3 when City Front took to the lead early and drew off to win an Indiana Grand maiden special weight by 3 1/2 lengths.

Bred in Kentucky by Two Stamp Stables, City Front is out of the stakes-placed Old Trieste mare Veneti. Jockey Deshawn Parker piloted the colt through 4 1/2 furlongs in :52.83 seconds as an even-money favorite for owner Brad Simpson Stables and trainer John Dyer.

Summer Front stands at Airdrie Stud in Midway, Ky., for an advertised fee of $10,000.

The 10-year-old son of War Front retired to Airdrie Stud in 2016 with eight wins in 23 starts and earnings of $1,077,140. His notable victories include the Grade 2 Ft. Lauderdale Stakes, and the G3 Hill Prince Stakes, Miami Mile Handicap and Cliff Hanger Stakes. He was also a two-time stakes winner at age two.
