New Year's Day, winner of the 2013 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, has been sold to stand at Luis Felipe Brandão dos Santos' Stud Eternamente Rio in Brazil, BloodHorse reports.
The 8-year-old son of Street Cry previously stood at Hill ‘n' Dale Farm in Lexington, Ky., where he entered stud in 2014. His leading runners include Grade 1-placed Yesterday's News and Grade 3-placed Day Raider.
Owned by Gary and Mary West and trained by Bob Baffert, New Year's Day broke his maiden in his second start, and parlayed that effort into a victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita Park. He was retired due to injury later that year with earnings of $1,154,000.
