Caladan, bred by Kirt Cahill and Sarah Cahill, became the first North American winner sired by Atreides, with a 3 1/2 length victory in a one-mile maiden special weight on Monday at Delaware Park.

The dark bay or brown colt stopped the clock in 1:40.92 under jockey Jeremy Rose in a race taken off the turf. Anthony Pecoraro saddled Caladan for owner Philip DiCosmo in the colt's second career start.

Atreides, a multiple stakes winner by Medaglia d'Oro, stands at Hill 'n' Dale Farms in Lexington, Ky., for an advertised fee of $5,000.

He is out of multiple Grade 1 winner Dream Rush, and is one of only two horses in the history of Beyer Speed Figures to post triple digit numbers in their first three starts. He won four of five career starts for earnings of $120,176, highlighted by victories in the Monarchos Stakes and Aventura Stakes, both at Gulfstream Park.
