Multiple graded stakes winner Airoforce and Grade 3 winner Uncle Vinny have been moved from Cabin Creek Farm in Bernville, Penn., to Equistar Training Center in Annville, Penn., where they will both stand in 2020 for an advertised fee of $2,500.
Airoforce, the son of Colonel John and Uncle Vinny, the son of Uncle Mo will be joining Equistar's current stallion roster which includes Smarty Jones, Crown of Thorns and Poseidon's Warrior.
“We believe Equistar will be a great fit for both Airoforce and Uncle Vinny,” said Jeff Jeans, owner of both stallions. “We chose Equistar largely because we share very similar views on marketing stallions, and this allows both Airoforce and Uncle Vinny to continue to take part in the lucrative state-bred program, here in Pennsylvania.”
Both Airoforce and Uncle Vinny were precocious 2-year-olds, breaking their maidens upon first asking and both winning graded stakes early in their freshman seasons. Airoforce, trained by Mark Casse, was extremely versatile, winning graded stakes on both dirt and turf, and he finished his juvenile season finishing a very close second in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf, resulting in him being named an Eclipse Award finalist along with Nyquist and Mohaymen for champion 2-year-old male in 2015.
Uncle Vinny, trained by Todd Pletcher, became Uncle Mo's first graded stakes winner, winning the 2015 Grade 3 Sanford Stakes. Uncle Vinny also placed in the G1 Hopeful Stakes toward the end of his freshman season.
Equistar will be hosting an open house in the next few weeks to allow potential breeders to come meet Airoforce and Uncle Vinny, once they are settled in their new home.
